Ring One: Perpetual Motion Machine

March 2026, Seyðisfjörður, Iceland

10ft x 10ft x 2ft

Steel, airplane cable, turnbuckles, clamps

The weight of a ring balances on a singular point that is charged with precarity. Its gesture is slippery, guiding us to believe it is moving at all times.

The presence of a circle provides a guide to locating your center; a reminder, you are here. Even when looking at the ring from the outside you know what it feels like to be held by it.

The sculpture exists outside poised on a rock at the edge of a fjord. Hovering about the liminal waters, reluctant to search for an end.
